Simple Grill Pan Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 steak
  • 1 Tbsp (15g) vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp (15g) kosher salt
  • 1 tsp (3g) fresh cracked black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat a cast iron grill pan over medium heat. Once hot, add vegetable oil to the pan.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together salt and black pepper until fully incorporated.
  3. Place steaks on a wire rack-lined baking tray and season the steak on all sides.
  4. Add vegetable oil to the pan.
  5. Place steak on the grill pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, then do a quarter turn and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Flip the steak and repeat this step. The total cook time should be 8-12 minutes, or an internal temperature of 125°F (50°C).
