Ingredients
Directions
- To a large, 6-7quart (5.5-6.5L) heavy pot, add the vegetable oil and heat over medium-high until shimmering.
- Add the popcorn kernels and cover with a lid.
- Continuously and vigorously shake the pot directly over the heat, holding the lid down with a kitchen towel, until kernels begin to pop. Continue to shake until the popping subsides, which will indicate that the popcorn is done. Turn off the heat, remove the lid and set aside.
- Add the butter to a small saucepan over medium heat. Melt the butter, swirling often until the milk solids are golden brown and toasted. Turn off the heat.
- Add the garlic and stir to toast.
- Immediately pour the garlic brown butter over the popcorn and generously season, to taste, with salt. Toss to evenly coat the popcorn.
- Transfer popcorn to a large serving bowl and enjoy.
